Going to Panel and Approval

Going to panel

  • The panel is made up of adoption experts and experienced adopters and is independent of Hounslow.  It is their job to make a judgment on your suitability to be an adoptive parent.
  • Your Prospective Adopter Report (PAR)  is reviewed by the panel and considered in detail. You are usually invited to attend the first part of the panel’s meeting if you want to.
  • The panel considers all the evidence in the PAR and makes a recommendation

Making a decision

  • The panel’s recommendation goes to the Agency Decision Maker to make the final decision on your suitability to adopt. In most circumstances this decision will endorse the adoption panel’s recommendation.
  • If you are considered suitable, approval as a prospective adopter is nationally recognized.
